One Last Christmas Wish by Elle Douglas

This story starts out with Quinn and she's with her whole family at Christmas and preparing for final Christmas there as family is selling the inn at Butterfly Lake.

They've invited a lot of repeat customers and family friends to stay for a week through the holidays. She is in charge of planning for events for them all to do, whether it be inside or out. She has a lot of things and details to tend to and she's real good at it.

Story also follows Declan who will be staying there, as he grew up at the lodge with her family. He has a family house in nearby. He's heavily involved in selling an app and after several days there, getting closer to Quinn he finds he has to leave Christmas morning to seal a deal. Love the compass race to find the star outside where all have a different trail and clues to the location. Great to catch up with the others in the family through the series and to see what they are doing now.

Such fun board games also and the food, just yum!

Things don't go according to plan til the end when Declan shows up for New Years Eve with news of his dealings.

Such a fun holiday read, can't wait to read more from this author.

Story starts out with Zach and he's a hot shot firefighter and the town has acquired him for their town. He loves the fire department and the work he does. His mother lives nearby and he doesn't talk with her often, they had a falling out and she's a famous actress.  Story also follow Tilly who is trying to recreate herself She's failed so often nobody believes she can do anything to the end. She writes a proposal to the town as the judges will visit along with other neighboring towns to judge the events taking place. She knows her work and also does data entry to pay the bills. Love her proposals to her sisters at the floral gardens the family tends to and I love the idea, especially around the holidays. She does so much research she can tell you where everybody buys poinstsettias from.....

Love that the mayor and chief of fire department team Zach an Tilly together. He is drawn to her and her to him. HE wants to go slow. She knows when something is bothering him and draws it out of him. He knows when she's down in the dumps also.

Just a few days from the event things fall apart and he boosts her up to get it done.

Love the surprises to the townsfolk and Tilly as the night plays out. Love Christmas festivities around town, so fun and

What I like about this book is the straight forwardness of the contents. It's not only for teens and kids but adults and even help for retired people.  Love hearing about the side hustles and I've looked into a few, simple things like answering surveys, playing games for points that you then trade into gift cards. Super gifts for birthdays and the holidays.

Lots of financial advice and be sure to do your own homework, what works for you. References are listed at the end. 

  

 

The Montana Cowboy’s Duty by Sinclair Jayne

Starts with how this series came about.

Story starts with Willow and her brother Jace grew up on the farm.  She’s a barrel rider for the rodeo..

She's pregnant and she's not sure still what to do...What I love about this story is you get to hear what’s in  her mind as she’s thinking it. Same with other characters, you learn about their past and all little details of how they grew up.

Story also follows Jake who's a bull rider at the rodeo.  So financially unstable they discuss flowers and wedding dress and she had plans for those already, with her money... Jake heads off to do his promotional work to earn more money.

The cowboy that's left behind is the best man of Jake, Huck and he served with her brother Jace in the war and will be escorting her down the aisle...

Lots of twists and turns and issues they all need to work through.

Love romantic gestures, caring for elders through thick and thin, to coming up with solutions to their own problems in a loving way.

Love all explicit descriptions of the locale, places I'm familiar with and the little things that matter the most.

Adult situations.

First time reading this author and I can't wait to read more.

The book is about affirmation, inspiration and empowerment. She tells of her struggles through the years and how reaching out to others helped her achieve her goals. Scary parts about the meeting place and sounds like father threw her under the bus as the trouble maker of the family.  Love that she succeeded beyond her belief. Steps you can take to achieve your goals are included in depth.

Great read.

Cowboy’s Christmas Rodeo

Like having a bundle of books to read because they are so cherished and realistic.

Story starts with Axel and he's thinking of buying back the family ranch and hanging up doing rodeos. he's one step from blowing the whole thing when he runs into Ford, a competitor that irks him to no means, at a bar and by what he's saying Axel is ready to punch him out. Belle, there with her friends is on the way to get drinks for their table when she slides up to him and he feels her touch on his arm. He immediately calms down. They later talk and he wants her by his side so he won't blow the whole thing on  a punch...  She agrees but she needs him for things also.

Hate how her mom is always trying to find her a spouse. They couple date in public but the mother continues to do things, setting her up with other men.

Love how it goes with each helping the other out til he finds out info on a report she had written for her college class.

The whole thing has gone sideways and you wonder if he will be leaving town, if they can can get back together and if she explains it all...

A Love For a Lifetime by Lara Van Hulzen

This story starts out with  Charlie and she's ignoring her mothers phone calls. She does get a call from her daughter who's getting married but the grandparents are taking over and inviting their friends, argh. She also learns from her spouse Davis that their house is being sold. THe parents had given it to them, but now they've changed their minds after raising the whole family there.

She is a real estate broker and is given a job of a new one to put on the market. She canvases the house and area and learns it was a family similar to hers as there were marks on the side of the door with height measurements. She contacts one relative and learns so much more about the house while Mike was growing up during the depression years.

With all the pressure she has to deal with I can't even imagine  the stress Charlie has.

Love hearing how the town comes together to form the big event, from food to other family friendly Founder's Day celebration. Charlie also knows of other plans the town is faced with...

With the medical emergency Davis knows what he has to do...

Beautiful realistic story. Can't wait for more in this series.
