Recipes are listed in TOC, not in any specific order.
Hand sketched drawings of food throughout.
Each recipe start with a title. to far right hand corner, sometimes in shaded area is prep and total time, servings and some nutritonal information: calories, fat, carbs, protein, cholesterol, sodium.
In main part of the page is List of ingredients and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low fat, low sodium, low sugar and fresh vs canned items.
Directions are given. There are full page phtoographs but they are not the recipes, just sticks of cinnamon.
Cinnamon is such a great healthy choice as I find I am using it more often in cakes and even meal recipes.
Like the idea of making Christmas tree ornament, and they could be edible as it's only applesauce and cinnamon.
Good information and so many choices, NOT just for sweets.

Not sure why you’d put in chives for blueberry jam, sounds different and not appealing.
When my grandmother would travel i'd visit her kitchen every day to tend to pickles she was making, very long week process but they'd come out perfect and we treasured having a jar for Christmas gift.
Making mustard, sounds great and I can adjust sodium that goes into it.
Also has a large section on pressure cooking canning.

Different functions are shown with examples of what they all do, maintaining the PC and cooking charts.
Altitude can also throw off time in  the PC.
Each recipe starts with a title, servings and time.
