Escaping the Russian Onslaught: A Family’s Story of Fleeing the Russian Army after Hitler’s Nazi Regime by Dorlies von Kaphengst Meissner Rasmussen
Love hearing this story as it's about a woman who has struggled during the way, like a daily journal of what happened to her and her family during the war.
Vivid scenes the words describe has brought me to honor her. Strength she has comes through int eh words of the author.  What a great legacy to have for the family. I can't even imagine the pain she suffered even getting saved by others from the cattle cars they were forced to be on to escape. So many times she feared for their lives as they ran and went without food, warm clothing and knowing at any time they could be turned in from others she had helped in the past. She hopes to reunite with her spouse if she can ever locate him. Was happy for them when they find a bit of a peace from the madness.
So very descriptive in details.  I can picture myself in her predicament right along with her in the pages.
