Poontown: A Novel of Chasing Tarpon and Glory by L. M. Weeks
I have fished in my life and enjoyed it, the time alone and peace and quiet. Love this book for showing me another side to fishing. This book is meant for anybody as it encompasses so many genres: romance, travel, fishing, action, adventure, mysteries and so much more.
There is adult language but it goes along with the story. Love how the
author pits one groups of anglers and guides against another set. Learned so much about fishing for tarpon and about the strategies. Love how the guide is is involved also with all that and can maneuver the boat to where it needs to be as the fish attempt to escape the hook. Characters from all walks of life and you have had to proof yourself to be invited back for the annual tournament. Like how the scoring is achieved and as who can gain an edge by the time you sent in pictures of your fishing expedition. So very colorful characters, got a few chuckles out of their escapades and laughing out loud at other times.
Super enjoyed this book and would read another from this author as he is very descriptive I can imagine the scenes in my head.
