Books read Jan 4

Happy Hollisters Trading Post Mystery #7 by Jerry West
Love that this story follows a family of siblings.
Book starts with a dedication and about the characters and how this series has been rewritten from the original.
Book also contains sketches in black and white of some scenes.
Story surrounds the family and the youngest is getting a burro/donkey. It's around Christmas time and the dad gets an idea to decorate his trading post store and the children help him with ideas.
They go with a Santa, in a sleigh and the reindeer and they put it on the roof. Customers come along and buy gifts and they are put into the big red bag to distribute to the needy kids in the area.
There are also many other things going on with the kids, visitors coming for the holiday, skits at school, donating money by doing things in town to give for the needy, tracking down the stolen items.
Love hearing all the clues and how they all come together. Never thought I'd see this story ending as it did.
Was easy for me to follow the characters and not get sidetracked, first book I've read about this series.
Can't wait to read more of the family's escapades.
Similar to the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and Paul Moxham's series but each offer just a bit of something different.

Happy Hollisters #1 by Jerry West
Book starts out  with a dedication  page  and who the characters are in real life.
This story starts out with the family and they are moving to Pine Lake, Shoreham.
One problem is the small van with their toys in it and their dads special suitcase of work papers is missing.
There are a lot of clues and love hearing about them all along the way. Such cool time, in 1950's when the boys set up a fish net and it actually catches fish for them the next morning.
Love the pranks they play on one another.
Such scary times also as they get close to the thief. Love hearing of the secret stairway and hidden treasure IN the house.
Can't wait to read more. Such descriptive details.

The Happy Hollisters and the Mystery at Missile Town (Happy Hollisters, #19) by Jerry West
In this adventure the kids are able to visit their relatives in FL. I am familiar with the area but not the space area.
Love how they are able to get to know the people in the area and how they are also able to collect clues about a missing monkey
and a missing nose cone from a rocket that didn't blast off right.
There are many dangers for them along the way but they are able to handle them all, even the neighborhood bully.
Love learning all new things even at their level. Makes such a fun read.
