MY REVIEW:

Marital Advice to My Grandson, Joel: How to Be a Husband Your Wife Won't Throw Out of the Window in the Middle of the Night  by Peter Davidson
What I like right off the bat is the male perspective about things females flock together to discuss: fashion, wedding planning, etc.
So much helpful advice to keep the marriage alive and on track.
Years of experience are the priceless part of life and so generous of the author to share it.
Hilarious events that occur that had me laughing out loud because they are 100% true! Take heed of the advice in this book, it's true north.
So much down to earth advice no matter if you are a male or female reader. I think females will find this as a book they'd want to gift to a male.
Compromise til you get your way, it takes time and patience like the toilet paper roll. LOL
Brutal at times and it's not sugar coated.  Brownie points ROFL.
There are SO many great parts to read about I don't want to spoil them for you, you gotta read them firsthand and you will have tears in your eyes from laughing so hard.

My Review:
Once Broken by D. M. Hamblin
Book subject sounds interesting and I wanted to give this new author to me a try.
1993 wedding of Camilia and Tony.
Story goes back in time as it catches us up with the present day. Jackie and Gina on their way to the mall...jackie had once loved Tony and knows he's getting married...Tony is Gina's dad.
Tony's father stuck up for him no matter what bad things Tony had done.
Like how Jackie lives with the decisions she made in her life and have a bad feeling as to what really happened to her intended...
Happy to learn the grandparents want the child in their life...
Medical emergency gives them all a chance to stand back and think of what's going on and get it all in order.
What I like about this book are many things: music and lyrics of the time when I was growing up also,  locations of places visited as I live or have been to the same ones-magical, the career Jackie decides on and why-so brave! So many hidden treasures: charms, needlework, picnics.
Unpredictable, scary, romantic, sex scenes, travel, just an all around great read. Can't wait to read more from this author as she gets her point acrss without a lot of drama. Love how it follows their lives through the teen to adult years and those older-well rounded family life. Feel so much closer to this author after reading her bio as we have gone through so many of the same things in life.
Received this review copy from the author via Goodreads and this is my honest opinion.

Under His Skin by S.I. Hayes and J. Haney
Sounded like a great story to read and finally got the book and was not disappointed.
Story follows Charlie who is a tattoo artist among other artistic mediums, at her family's shop in Gatlinburg, TN.
Dorian is part of the family amusement park empire and he's banished from LA to TN to head up the new park there. He's come across Charlie and has her do his back tat.
They spend time together and get to talking and one thing leads to another.
Love the drop of the hat travel plans. Am familiar with TN area and was surprised to hear about parts of other countries - what a bonus for me!
Lots of steamy sex scenes, very well detailed.
Love the opportunities that are given to her, priceless!
Like hearing of the mystery surrounding the shooting and how they solve that immediate problem. Everything goes into high gear as they are kept safe and other family personal emergencies arise.
Lots of action and adventure, travel, romance and mysteries along with real life situations. Great all around story.
Author bio's at the end.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

The Book No One Wants To Read: A funny interactive activity book that gets reluctant readers reading by Beth Bacon
Excellent read just like the last book I read by this author. So many things to do while reading this.
Some pages will make you laugh out loud. I can't wait to read this one with my grandson, we WILL have tears in our eyes from laughing so much!

Mystery at Dead Broke Ranch by Anne Greene
Have read other works by the author and have enjoyed the reads.
This one starts out  with Ashley, a special ed therapist and she needs a man. She is strong and lives on the ranch with Zach her brother in a wheelchair.
The job is still available: work at the ranch and the man riding up on the motorcycle wants it, Stone Hunter. He's done all kinds of jobs, interesting hearing about them all throughout the book.
She needed him to work because if they didn't have ramps for Zach and other things he'd go back to foster homes. They still have not solved the murder of her grandfather... She just wants a Christian man.
Her twin sisters are moving in and one is to be married at Christmas. Love the work she does with the horses for handicap kids.
Stone  just wants to find what he left behind and get out of there...
Past events are brought forward and she recalls why Zach is confined to the chair.
He tells the family the truth then he has to leave and he hopes to clear his past before returning... So many leads and clues as to who killed her grandfather...
There is so much more to learn about the characters and their careers, can't wait to read more about them. Handful of characters but easy to keep them straight.
Lots of action and more mystery and the authors other works are highlighted at the end.
I was given the book by the author via Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and this is my honest review

30 Day Whole Food Instant Pot Challenge by Anton Finch
What I liked about this book are the fresh ingredients. What I didn't like was the use of canned vegetables when you can just make them fresh and more nutritious.
Each recipe includes a title time and servings, list of ingredients which you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low sugar, low fat, low sodium products.
I'd also use fresh tomatoes rather than canned one. Directions are given and there is some nutritional information but I'm not sure for what size serving and I am not sure why cholesterol is listed as that product is no longer added.
Maybe they mean sodium, that would make sense. Has calories, fat NOT broken up into good and bad, carbs, sugars, protein and cholesterol.
There are NO pictures. Didn't find anything new that I've not tried already.
Has conversion  tables listed at the end.

Stormy by Tina Gayle
Book starts out with Karen and she's arrived at his house one snowy night but hadn't been able to reach him by phone.
Daniel is surprised to find her in his home after leaving the bathroom and they find they have much in common-having held it all in for too long.
Hot steamy sex scenes. They each had lost their spouses and are overcoming their grief.
Story also follows the children and how they assume Karen will show up at the hospital with her ex's heart attack although he's got a new woman in his life.
He was her boss, now he's her lover. Gets a bit confusing as the other families come into play with their lives.
Like all the turmoil that goes with the story as the people are the older age and not much drama as 20s couples.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Soldier On by JD Wynne
This book starts out with Molly and she's gone trhough rough times after 9/11 and is now stationed in Afghanistan.
She's with other females and she just wants to get the year over with.
Daily things that need to get done are listed for her to do as a guard to the detainees locked in their cells. Some deplorable conditions but then there are breaks away from it all.
Adult situations and was happy to hear she had stuck to her guns and followed it through. Hadn't seen it coming.
Like relationships formed and with who during her stay there to help pass the time. Loved hearing all about the treats sent from the scout troops and relatives.
Like phrase of the title of the book and love what it stands for. Especially like the ending and glad it wasn't a cliff hanger.
Received this review copy from the author via Goodreads and this is my honest opinion.

Instant Pot Cookbook: 365 Day Super Healthy quick and easy pressure cooker recipes ( Pressure Cooker Recipes, Instant Pot Recipes Book, Healthy Cookbook) by Linda Thompson
This book starts out with a short intro and table of contents divided into meals.  Great info in the introduction that shows the pot dissected and why it's fun to cook with. Also has a measurement conversion chart and abbreviations..
Each recipe starts with a title, prep and cook time and servings. List of ingredients and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: Low sodium, low fat, low sugar products.
Directions on included and there is some nutrition information: calories, fat, NOT broken up into good and bad, fiber, carbs and protein.  There is no serving size for the prior information and there are no pictures for individual dishes.
At some point the nutritional information is so different than how it starts out in first recipe.
Cook time is omitted also as the recipes go on. No consistency in the recipes, wonder why?
Don't really see anything new I'd want to try in this book.
Table of contents listed at the end again.

Snow Dance by Alicia Street and Roy Street
Amanda is new in town and opening a vintage line of clothing. She meets Russ at the hardware store where she gets the paint from.
Russ talks her into hiring his younger sister, Casey who's finding it hard to help with her cancer ridden dad and her mom went back to the bottle, school and a younger sister.
Love hearing how Amanda talks her into setting up for dance moves. She's not smiled in so long and Parker is so happy to see it.
We also learn more of their background lives.  Amanda finds things missing, and other strange things happening.
Very descriptive details and few characters, easy to keep track of.
Twists and turns all around, enjoyed the read and will read the next in the box set.

Kiss Me Dancer by Alicia Street and Roy Street
This story starts off with Casey and she's in charge of the 8 and 10 year old students at the barre. Love hearing abou the dance moves.
Josh left with his bio dad and she ran after them to find out who he was.
Story follows Casey and her family and her career and job of running and owning the ballet shop and the lease is about to be sold.
Parker, her brother took over the landscaping jobs his father had along with other miscellaneous jobs. He had helped her redo the whole place for the studio and her own apartment above.
Story also follows Josh and his dad. He's a very rich man and arrived in a limo and has yachts and everything else he ever wanted.
Drew Burn from the trucking company and he's got tats all over. She is strongly attracted to Drew.
He is highly attracted to her also when they show up for the local play Josh will be in.
Great keeping up to date with the others in her family as we were introduced to them in the previous book.
Like twist of the fortune teller. Their relationship takes different turns and twists and plans are made but with hestiation...
Sex scenes. She's lucky to have her best friend Natalie around when things  don't go exactly as planned...

Touch Me and Tango by Alicia Street and Roy Street
This story starts out with Tanya-dancer who had traveled throughout Europe for the past several years.
She's part of a couple with Andre. Mark is her fiance and she finds out he needs to marry to get his inheritance.
She had always been in love with Parker-the nurseryman back home.
She's returned to take care of her mother who's now disabled... There are a lot of repairs that should be done while she's there...
Her mother wants them to locate the treasure and be rich... They need to get Parker to help but he hung up on Tanya... She also needs to make amends with Parker's sister Casey...
Her and parker have history and he even still has the ring.
Death threats and other life emergencies make them realize their time together may be short.
Lots of action, adventure, mystery, sex scenes, treasure hunts are just a bit of this book.
Love hearing of the wheelchair ballroom dancing, priceless!
.

Stars, Love and Pirouettes by Alicia Street and Roy Street
This story follows Jenna and her brother has just gotten married. She's a dancer in the city but has recently taught classes in her hometown.
Love the discussions about stars and other galaxy items.
She's taken a leave from the ballet and she is staring in a movie. Now she has options, not only with work but with men.
Love catching up with the others in the family and town.
Great series.

Going Back by Judith Arnold
Phyllis and her two friends always shared lunch together once a month in the city.
Andrea and Eric are married and will have Eric at their house when he arrives til he gets settled.
They had met him in college and hope he's as good looking as then.  Daphne is a real estate broker and they them to coordinate a place for Eric.
They both recall what happened 8 years ago and hope the other had forgotten.
Lots of drama as Eric looks for a new place-his parents are divorced, live in the same building and still hook up but don't live together. Each of them think the other parent has got their hooks in Eric and is persuading him.
Steamy sex scenes as their relationship is moving forward. Love the parts where he shares info on his parents and she actually listens.
Lots of twists and turns and just when you think it's being predictable it is not.

Very interesting schemers and how they get away with claiming to be lawyers...
Every angle covered, love reading this author.

Death by Didgeridoo: A Jamie Quinn Mystery by Barbara Venkataraman
This story starts out with talk of the murder and how Spike was a jerk, a rock star and how he was murdered.
Jamie the investigator and she's just lost her mother and her aunt calls with an emergency mystery.
Like hearing about the murder investigation and all the leads she accumulates in just a short period of time.
Like her PI and I laughed out a loud a few times even! Also liked lyrics from songs that relate to what was going on, as I know those same songs.
I really like the details didn't drag on and the story ended within 125 pages. Handful of characters that are easy to keep track of. Very detailed and done so well it doesn't get boring.

Focus on Love By Candee Fick
Like the cover because of all the knitting on the front.
Free egift at the beginning. This story starts out with Liz and she's opening gifts.
The family is into the phtoography business and she's a great addition.
Jerry had been stealing her ideas for the company and coming off as they were his...
Her grandfather had wanted her but things didn't work out...
She prays often to God and knows she needs to go after new dreams: acting and forget about photography... til she gets paid for her photos...
She gets a call asking when she returns home, for good...after 3 years she has yet another job ad won't be coming home. Her father cuts her off from the family til she apologizes and comes home to work as a secretary for the photography business.
Not familiar with the areas so it's fascinating to me to learn about them and the very detailed descriptions make me want to go, along with the various acitivities available, outside.
Ryan and his family, priceless! Love hearing of the time they spend with his family, fills the void she has in her life. Love the church setting and how welcome it is with what others are wearing.
Love the synch they have with photography, I share the same with my husband.

Love, Second Time Around by Penny Appleton
Story starts out wth Maggie and she's heading to the seminar in Edinburgh. Through many sources of travel she does arrive, in time and sees her old friend Greg. They had often been on opposite sides of the table, both are fighting for their side to win-environmental oil issues.
She put a lot of work into her research and is a bit thrown off by finding him there. They do connect but she keeps her distance.
When they meet up later and spend the night at the same hotel after a conceert they draw closer. She needs the money to fix up her square cottage.
Love parts of the land and surrounding areas that are described. Love also the US locations as I've been through many. Love learning about the new places to explore.
Lvoe hearing about the horses and the places they are able to get to. When they meet for another meeting in the city her boss finds out she's spent time with Greg and she's fired. He does find out and I like hearing what he did about it. He has the solution if she will agree.
Love hearing of the native Indian customs and tradiitions. Love the escusions. You wonder if they will ever get to connect again. Love chats they had about their past lives and kids as they create new memories.
Can't wait to read more from this author. Wish some parts she had spent more time on with more details because I really like to learn new things.
Beautiful story! Love that it's about older people, not those in their 20's because the problems are different.  This book has something for everybody to enjoy.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

The Soldier Who Killed a King by David Kitz
Wasn't sure I could get into reading this but so glad I got a review copy.
What an awesome read. Starts out with Marcus and he's the Roman soldier in charge as life comes to the city for Passover week. Growing up Catholic I was able to follow so much of this story.
Some parts of the story really helped me understand what really happened during that week and the resurrection that is commerated as Easter Sunday.
Like following the solider around as things are explained in words I can understand-just had to click on some words and the online dictionary would load up and tell me what the word meant.
So many details and very descriptive you can see in your mind what's going on. Wish they had taught us this version when we were growing up-it's so understandable and clear.
Wasn't able to read the print version due to my poor vision after trying all my other glasses and magnifiers so got a kindle version that I could control the font size of the text. Would highly recommend this book, enjoyed the read.
Espeically liked the ending.
I was given the review copy by the author via Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and this is my honest opinion

The beautiful lost by Luanne Rice
Starts out with the teen daughter, her mother gone, her father married a new woman Astra.
Love treasures I find in this book: whale room and all the associations with her mother.
She would see Billy Gorham standing at the window-his mother was murdered by his father...
Celestrial navagation and the sextant, another treasure! Mia sees a therapist but she feels bad for others who have to wait.
Hearing about the cairns brought tears to my eyes as we seek them out.
The plan is in motion and she takes Billy with her and he knows how to do things. Loved being on the Morgan again and learning more about the decks below.
Love the journey of where her plan will take them on, enjoying the journey so much.
Love personal message from the author, so touching. Resources listed at the end.

Come sundown by Nora Roberts
The family business is running the ranch.
Bo runs it when Alice Bodine and she's returning home with all of her posssessions.
She recalls what had drawn her away...
The story moves to the present day where we find Maureen ahead of her schedule.
Other ranchers would be doing their chores. She runs the resort.
Love the idea of what all the resort offers, all inclusive for sure. Like ideas for the winter holidays to draw more to the area.
Story alternates between the ranch and resort to what Alice is going through.
Like hearing of all the relationships, in all different age groups.
The stories do combine towards the end when clues start getting solved. Love this book although it left me so scared and things were happening.
Would make a great series with so many characters in the family.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Book starts out with Hunter and he raised horses. The latest is very brutal and he knows he needs some help to tame this one.
With help from a boy they get the contained horse on a small barge and take him to where they hope the horsemaster lives. He'd be the one to tame him.
He arrives and only finds a woman-his daughter. Her father is gone.
Like learning about the wild horses and how they show up to be close to her.
He watches as the next day Hunter sees the horse catching her but she wants a chance with the horse.
She had been taught by the expert, her father and she knew she had to take her time with the horse.
Love the relationship they discover on the roof.
They see into each other's soul and she sees he needs a new wife and he sees she is simple but connected to the horses-has no idea about the outside world.
Love how Alysha trains the stallion-Finn.  Hunter tends to the other animals and knows his kids are in good hands with his inlaws.
Slaves wonder to the island and she knows what she needs to do-follow in her father's footsteps so they can continue their journey.
He meets a man he thought he'd never see again, she is amazed at everything she's learning about her father's life.

Troubles at Timber Ski Lodge by Max Elliot Anderson
Book starts out with a family, three generations and they live at the ski lodge. They are on their last attempt to keep it open as previous years have not been profitable.
Besides all the lodge troubles, Eric also has brother and friend problems. Like the idea and the book was so suspenseful as you never knew what was going to happen next.
Keep me reading and wanting to learn more about the ski lodge and all the machines that run it. When the plane with gold crashes the boys want to find it and be the hero.
They start out and end up spending the night in a cabin and head out to find the plane the next morning. Lots of action and quick thinking. Love ending and how they plan to use it and all the requests to be friends and being helpful.

There are NO pictures. Found a few that I might try as I have all the ingredients.

The Night the Mountain Fell: The Story of the Montana-Yellowstone Earthquake by Edmund Christopherson
Never realized this had happeend. Also didn't know that there were so many areas effected by this. Stories of those who were there and what they were doing along with watching what others around them were doing when it struck and afterwards.
Very tragic.

Delicious Ice Cream Cookbook: 35 Homemade Ice Cream Recipes: Exotic, Vegan, Sorbets, Granitas and many others by James Miller
Cookbook about ice cream making and you can do it with a maker, in your own home.
What I like about this book is there are many varieities of ice cream to make.
Starts out with a table of contents and the recipes are broken up into same type ingredient categories.
An introduction talks about why you should be able to make ice cream and why it really is healthy for your body.
Each recipe has a title, prep time and servings. A color photo for each one along with ingredients.
You probably should NOT substitute for your healthier dietary needs because the chemistry won't come out right and neither will the end result.
There are sections for healtier ice cream in this book.
Directions on how to make the ice cream is also included with the recipes.
I like a lot of the fruit ones but I'd cut down on sugar myself.

Monsters Can't Sleep by Michael Gordon
Colorful children's book about Joshua and he's in bed but he hears noises and gets up to investigate.
Cute story about why a monster can't sleep. On tablet you are forced to read this sideways and you can't enlarge the words.

There is a small color photo but no nutritional information.
Don't care for use of so many rcipes that use canned items. I'd stick to fresh.
One recipe I found had over 17 ingredients, lots of spices, very time consuming to make this one.
One recipe is for baked potatoes and caviar. You bake potatoes in the oven, no temperature or for how long.

List of ingredients and you should probably NOT substitute for a healthier option.
Directions are given in how to make this along with variations listed at the bottom. Not a lot of color photos and there is no nutritional information.
Be cool to make these are gifts for special holidays, they would take some time if you've never amde them before and quite the expense of the equipment you'd need but much worth it.

Slow Cooker Cookbook for Two: 250 Slow Cooking Recipes Designed for Two People by Steven D. Shaw

Free gift is offered. Introduction that talks about slow cookers.
Each recipe starts out with a title, prep and cook time and servings.
List of ingredients and you should be able to substitute for your healier dietary needs: low sodium, low fat and low sugar products.
Directions are also included.
Nutritional information includes calories, fat NOT broken up into good or bad, fiber, carbs and protein. NO sodium is mentioned.
There are NO pictures.
I would use fresh ingredients vs canned tomatoes.  Same with kidney beans, soak them overnight vs ones in the can.
One recipe has over 15 ingredients and a lot of the items have to e diced or cubed. IT's going to take more than 10 minutes, just don't think time is right in some of the recipes.
If I want a breakfast dish ready for 6am I'd have to get up at 3am to cook it in the slow cooker.  Doesn't make sense to me to let it cook for so long.

Received this free review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Her Wicked Ways by Darcy Burke
He and he buddies are there to rob the coaches but all he is offered is a kiss. He needs money for those at the orphanage for medicine.
He finds her name Miranda, appealing. Because of her behavior she's being sent to work at the orphanage in the way of punishment.
She had hoped to help Beatrice find a husband. That kiss though, was like one she never had before.
Fox is a farmer and helps at the orphanage, his family owns and runs it. She is able to ask others for contributions and lets him know he appeals to her.
Rob tries to pursuade him to go after Miranda before others get her.
Love hearing how she wants to teach the girls new things and how she handles the boys and manners at the table.
They are able to spend a lot of time together and the orphanage and learn more about each other.
Very explcit sexual scenes.  Lots of mystery that involve money, missing money.
Very boring and long drawn out for my liking. Other works and excerpts are included at the end.
Received this free review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Wool Unraveling an American Story of Artisans and Innovation by Peggy Hart
Love learning about the history in the US about wool and why it's no longer used as much as back in the 1600's.
I am a knitter and do use patterns from 1860's for Sturbridge Village using the wool from their animals to knit the items they want. Love that this village is mentioned in the book. So fascinating to learn so much!
Sketches along the way showing what is being talked about. It's much of how I picture the early 1900's with the local mills (I live in RI so am familiar).
Loved hearing of the resources that still produce wool yarn today.

Out of Character
by Molly Zenk
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Inspirational
238 pages

Out of Character by Molly Zenk
This book starts out with many chapters following different people in various places. They all have one thing in common that becomes obvious once you get to know them.
The auditions are in and the characters set for 1700's Life. I think I myself would enjoy this life as I like to use my hands and don't need the bells of whistles of today.
They want to stand for something, their life has a purpose and God is in the plans. Faith and purity are keys.
The show is a historic reality faith based drama show where nothing is scripted and it's on an island.
Alternating chapters of the characters so at times it gets a bit confusing til you realize who is who and what's going on.
David, Harmony, Elliott, Katie are the real life characters in the 1700's village. The plot is Harmony is to spend with the two men and select one.
Twists and turns and a major one at the end.  Like story line but wish there had been more of the 1700's day to day life descriptions of things there and chores to be done.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Andromeda's Reign by K. S. Haigwood
This one starts up where the last ended off. Very steamy at times and you really need to read the previous books to understand what's going on.
They have a bond, Ace and Andromeda although she as Nema loves Phoenix.  They must be together for each to survive and it's hard to fit Phoenix and Andromeda into it all. She must learn more about her powers and the bond with Ace and what's why she's in Vegas, with him and his clan.
She also learns of Ace's powers over her...
Lots of action, adventure and mystery as they try to find another witch to break the bond spell. More shifters and much more to learn about them and how they play with existing shifters.
Not really my genre but I like the style of writing as it's very descriptive.
I received this review book from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Memory Warp: How the Myth of Repressed Memory Arose and Refuses to Die by Mark Pendergrast
This book contains adult situations, abuse and other disturbing topics.
What I really like about this book is the research and much references that are quoted about repressed memory.
Had read another book by this author and he goes above and beyond to back up his statements.
He also gives the very medical technical side of things but in easy to understand language. The other book I had read about Jerry Sandusky is also quoted in this book as it refers to the repressed memory.

Like learning about sleep paralysis, I've had these and now I know why.
Body and mind memories, good to learn about these and about PTSD and flashbacks.
Cult and Satanic insistences that are similar to the memory problems mentioned prior.  Like link with hypnotic driving.
I got as far as the day care molestations and can't go any further. It's all so disturbing to me.
Gave this book a 5 because of all the intense research involved and the research on the memory warp diseases.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

When DNA is Wrong by Jeff Beckett
Have a few review chapters from the author.
Subject intrigues me as I've heard of many that have been wrongly accused and later in life while serving in prison they are released because the DNA proved it couldn't have been them.
Starts out with detectives and they are summoned to a crime scene. Lots of details come forth as they question the woman in the apartment about her boyfriend that is now dead.
Very descriptive you can picture the scenes as they are very detailed.
Would like to review this but not going to pay to do so.

Embers of Atlanta (a short story, crime, mystery)
Very descriptive book about a few different characters as they appear to be surviving the catastrophic demise of a city.
What some have to go through as they are bitten on the legs from dogs as they try to climb to higher ground.
Seems to be only the fittest will survive the hardest of times. Almost like when a bomb goes off, there's destruction all around.
Nothing is as it once was and will never be again.
from author for my honest opinion.

STILL LIFE WITH MURDER by Patricia Ryan/ PB Ryan
Have read other works by this author and have enjoyed the books.
1860's on the Cape and life at the summer cottage, more like a mansion.
Hewett's are about to have another in the family. The new nursery maid, Nell tries to adjust to living in the city and on the Cape during the summer months.  She also has to help raise the child under religion of the family.
She knows much of the family's dark secrets.  She's a great one to sketch.
She is asked to help save their son William after he's been found, in a jail accused of murder. Mrs. Hewett can only rely on Nell to help as her husband has banned her from doing so herself.
The jail is so much part of her past life and she tries to find clues and people who saw what happened to try to help William...
Very detailed descriptions of hard subjects as she is witness to some of the investigations of scenes of events that occurred.
Like learning about all their dark secrets and how things worked back in time.
Lots of twists and turns and unpredictable things and you won't know who was the culprit til the end and it won't be who you think it is, who all the clues are pointing to.

The Earl's Defiant Wallflower by Erica Ridley
Have read other works by this author and have enjoyed the reads.
This one starts out in 1816 London and we find Lord Carlisle, Oliver York and he's glad to be back home, in charge of the family estate.
His father is dead by an allergic reaction to seafood from his new mistress. He needs to have a wife and very soon...
Story also follows Grace Halton and she's in charge of her mothers health and they travel to London and she needs to save her home.
She needs to find a rich husband as Oliver asks her for a dance....
Loved learning new words and finding out what they mean that are no longer used in today's world.
They confide in one another, he learning about her money woes and her learning of his estate woes. He may have a scheme that will help his best friends pregnant girlfriend that will solve all their money woes.
Oliver offers Grace his address so she can correspond with her mother without her grandparents burning them...
Lots of action, scheming and how can things turn out good?
