Books Review: stinky Toe and The Zombunny by Dan Alatorre

Stinky Toe by Dan Alatorre
This book starts out with listing of other children's books works by the author.
This is a colorful children's rhyming story about a mom Jo, Mama Jo and her son Bo.
She is always telling him it's time to wash his stinky toe. He insists he does not have a stinky toe.
Thing I like about this book is the subject-it's not widely discussed but we all have this problem.
He asks how it happens and I like the colorful pictures of where it happens...
Hilarious when he does discover yes indeed he has a stinky toe. Letters seem to get smaller as the story goes on and you can enlarge them on a tablet device.
About the author and illustrator are included at the end.
It's a keeper!
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

The Zombunny by Dan Alatorre
This chapter book for young readers is about a bunny Tom.
Tom likes to play outside and he has a lot of bunny friends.
There are problems and Tom does not want to listen to his friends so they take him to a doctor who tells him how to fix the problem.
He needs a good night time sleep and he has to eat good healthy foods.
He gets better but not every night and that's when it happens: It effects everything.
I found this story delightful as it was told from a 2nd grader and how they describe the zombies.
The fact that a kid can get away with the words used is priceless.
Never thought about a zombunny-so original and cute.
Pictures are hand drawn depicting the scenes of the page in black and white.
Liked how the chapters were broken up so you could read one or two a night.
Real life situations arise-pinkeye, etc that make this all so realistic to todays world. Love the message this book sends.
Author bios at the very end.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
