Night Beach

(The Seaside Saga #8)

by
From the New York Times bestselling author of Castaway Cottagecomes a novel as captivating as the moonlit sea.

Everything was in place for the perfect beachside gathering. Lace-wrapped jars hung from white chairs on the sand. Paper lanterns and tiki torches glimmered in the twilight evening. A rowboat draped with roses and vines waited in the wings. Love floated on the salt air.

Until the arrival of a mysterious guest named Shane Bradford, a lobsterman with a tangled past in this little New England beach town.

Like a sudden sea breeze, the special evening quickly turns. And the residents of Stony Point must tread the darker water Shane brings to their Night Beach .

MY REVIEW:

Night Beach by Joanne DeMaio
Love how this one the chapters is time stamped as events go on for just a few days.
Was so concerned about how the last book left off-fearful that a breakup was is in the works for many.
There's heartbreak, love, passion and so many more emotions arise in this book.
Starts where the last book left off and Mitch and Carole are talking to Kyle to get him to sober up then he decides to head to the cabin in the woods-which was to be their second honeymoon trip.
The whole ceremony is called off and Jason tries to pick up the pieces and get everyone back on the same wave length.
Love hearing more about the driftline-precisous information.
Love how the book also picks up where the other characters in the story are doing during the time frame.
Especially love the backstory that i've yet to hear about-new details as the pieces fall into place...
Others talk to Shane and find out he's a different man and he has no hard feelings against Kyle. Lauren is the one who had invited him to the ceremony.
Love hearing of all the crafty decorations and feel such a connection with this group of friends after all these years. Can't wait for the next one-they are all so special.
Twined wishes could be just what they need. Lots of twists and turns, unpredictable things, secrets come out and some are still kept deep within.  Book title of next book in the series is shown at the end.
About the author is also included. Can be read as a standalone as the author brings you up to date with brief glimpse of the past.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Return of the Runaway Bride by Donna Fasano
Story starts with Savanna and she can't go through with the wedding. Her whole life has been planned out for her and she rebels...
Story also follows Daniel who was left at the altar. Six years later she comes back to town and is hoping to redo the house and sell it.
She purchased it from her parents when they moved to the city. There is so much she has no idea about in her absence.
Others also have not heard about her and what she's done over the years. She felt like she had to prove herself.
Love the idea of her career and how it can help the hospital raise money. Daniel is now the laywer in town and heads up many committees.
They are forced to work together on the fund raiser with others and spend a lot of time together where they open up to one another about the past.
Like how the whole community is there for everybody else, similar to the town we live in.
Good story but a bit predictable. About the author is included at the end.

Free from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Brittle Diamonds by Hilary Walker
Starts with why author wrote this book. Such a subject that is still news today.
Priest in the seminary and the young boys that are abused.
Like English as they stick with one another and gossip about the neighbors. So much so that the priest knows what vehicles the others drive.
He had met a man on the train that opened up to him and they meet again after Matt had almost hit the horse and his tenant. He's lost his job and needs to confront his wife about it.
The priest won't be leading church after Sunday's mass because of the 30 year old abuse charges. The church will investigate.
There are quite a few characters but they all come together when least expected with their problems.
Love that it's Easter time and spring flowers are coming up. Love how they look forward to confessing to the priest.
Like all the secrets others are hiding but will come out soon, over time...
Especially love the different ages and how everything that is going on effects them all.
About the author is included at the end. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Riding out the Tempest by Hiliary Walker
This book we find Jack and he's mentoring a boy he had met prior.
Robert adjusts quickly with the food and the environment he is surrounded by. He takes a major liking to dogs and they listen to him.
They each heal one another. Jack finds now that Jill is visiting he learns more about the son he thought was aborted. He prays to God a lot with help from Father Michael.
Joe's mom visits also and he learns about where Joe was adopted from...Mr. Harper also pays a visit and things get hectic at times.
Joe also stops by often to help with the horses. Like everything about this book and the series. Religion is a plus for me along with diet for UC even though I'm not effected.
Can't wait til the next book to find out what happens... Books by the author are highlighted at the end along with about the author. Information about UC is also discussed among other similar diseases.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Riding Out the Rough by Hiliary Walker
Book starts out with recap of UC and why the author wrote this book for/about her son.
Jack is the horse trainer and he learns who Joe is and that he's the father. He's taking a liking to Laura a widow who is the adopted mother of Joe but he's having a hard time telling her he's the father....
He needs to be up front with her...his real father is there and tries to give him advice about hsi long lost son.
Robert is also there because of the dog he's helping to train and raise. It helps with his self confidence.
Bits of conversations are retold to others and so many misunderstandings occur and Jack is upset as is Laura and the others involved.
They really just need to talk it out, if they can...so many tragedies happen and you wonder if they will ever get to spend time together...
Turmoil but calm as they pray. Wasn't expected this ending-what an accomplishment. Loved this series, hated to see it end.
Other works by the author and more about UC are included at the end.  About the author is enclosed.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Shoestring Rider by Hilary Walker
The story starts out with Emma and how she was with
Wisdom her horse and just refuses to jump. The horse
trainer had tried different things to no avail and she was
the one that was supposedly very knowledgeable about
this subject. Emma took it upon herself after working at
the bank all day everyday to go online and research and
she found out that there was a man in England who had
overcome these obstacles with horses and she printed them out.
She tried a few to actually find one that worked.  She replied back to
him to thank him for his knowledge.  She started looking at the
woman trainer doubting she was a qualified trainer.
I love how at the end we learn the people at the stable stopped shunning
her and she was basically treated as a celebrity.
I am not a horse person have never been on a horse hope to ride one
someday.  It's just so interesting a subject for me to learn all these
things about horses and people and just everything surrounding the
subject. Love where the title comes from.
Received this review copy from the author and htis is my honest opinion.

Hillie's story by Hilary Walker
This one is about a special family dog but they were able to obtain
overseas. Really enjoyed learning about the process about getting a dog
from overseas and bringing it back to the States.
So many things that are necessary in order for the dog to make it
through the rules and regulations.
It's a shame to hear about the pain and suffering the dog had experienced.
Treasured family member.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Invalid argument by Hilary Walker
This is a story of a man without a handicap placard and he  parks in a handicap
spot at the store.  Many accumulate wondering why he's
parked there when other legitimate people with placards are not able to.
They soon realize what is disability is so don't be so quick to judge when you don't know all the facts.
Good lesson to learn.

Stones (One True Child Series Book 5) by L.C. Conn
Starts out with Claire and she's married to Matt and they have a young daughter: Brianna.
Her uncle Geoff is very ill and it's amazing the daughter tells them they must go see him, for the last time.
The young daughter has powers she has no idea about yet-she can see into the future.  Her uncle had raised Claire in Scotland as they pack up and get ready to go.
As time goes on others on the evil side kidnap some for leverage. Some are able to read their minds also, some can block them. Claire also has to heal others and some know her other secret.
The kids are safe and others are trying to find them and return them to the rightful parents.
So much, action, adventure, mystery,  different locations, magic and unusual things going on. Takes a lot out of them when they must use the magic...
Enjoying this story although I've missed the other 4 ahead of it so am a bit in the dark about some things but it's still a good story-not really my genre but finding it interesting enough to keep going.
Like what the meaning of the title is to this book-so very important place for them all.
Mind games so severe it brings others to the floor, so powerful. Love how the book is wrapped up at the end.
Other works by the author and about the author are included at the end.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Before the Storm (Home to Clare Harbor Book 1)by Jacie Middlemann
Like this story because of the characters and what is going on. Sara is leaving her job to hightail it to her grandparents who live in a mobile home and the tornadoes are coming their way.
They told her they were packing up and getting ready to leave. She k
new better and finds them still at home as she was one of the last cars to make it over the bridge.
The other vehicle was a news reporter van with equipment and lots of staples to survive the storms. They just follow her to where the grandparents live to find a lot of others who don't want to leave.
She gathers them all up with food and supplies and shuttles them inland where she knows of a place that might be more stable than a mobile home...
She gets a lot of help from the news crew and is so thankful. Love how they gather the seniors and bring them to safety.
Love how Sara has so many connections and love how the men find other useful things. With the storm things heat up and there are so many more mysteries that are touched on-but not solved.
Next book excerpt is included. Like this series a lot because of all the variety of people, ages, mysteries.
Would love to read more from this author!

One Warm Winter by Jamie Pope
Liked the story line and enjoying it very much.
Starts out with Winter and she's about 10 and she tries to keep safe but has memories of a woman trying to take her....
Then we jump forward to current day and she's been whisked off to an island by her security guard because her father, who she hardly knows is running for president and some news has hit the air waves...
She doesn't understand a lot of it but the others in the family have left the states to lose themselves overseas.
She knows her mother is not the one who gave her birth but the news says there is another child also-would be a sister to her.
Love how Cullen takes care of her especially at the 'home'. Lots of graphic sexual scenes. He protects her and we find out about his past life also.
Treasure the time my brother got to spend on the island before his passing, he was so very happy there.
Love birthday gift Winter gives him and how they all travel afterwards to make amends and get closure...
Like all the deatils, up to date news articles, real life experiences, PTSD, trauma scenes and travel.
More secrets come to light and so unpredictable circumstances occur.
Would enjoy other works by this author.
Received this review copy from Kensington Books via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

Christmas on the island by Jenny Colgan
Sounded like a good title and wanted to read this book as I've lived on an island during the holiday.
Narrater is from Scotland and has the accent to speak this book. Quite unique as I mostly listen to just English with no accents.
Story is set up about the location of the Scotland island and how life is during the cold dark winter days.
We find Flora has to tell her boss some serious news...There is a lot of talk about others as any island it's what keeps them going.
Highly sexually graphic. Enjoyed learning about others and their lives, the sex not so much.
Lots of twists and turns.
Recipes included.

Holiday Hearts A Sweet and Wholesome Romance Bundle by Josie Riviera
A Snowy White Christmas by Josie Riviera
Starts out with Margaret and she's back in town where she grew up hoping to buy the mobile home she was raised in. She gets a part time job being an elf at Christmas at the store with others in hopes to save the money for the sale.
Story also follows Fernando, her love from high school. She had left shortly after school ended to the west coast to model but she has other secrets she keeps from him.
He is into real estate and he has secrets he hides from her. Some things just don't make it into their conversations.
They do get together for meals and visits with his family but she has her own life. Part of his secret comes out at the sale. She is devastated.
Felt story was a bit rushed at the end when secrets are revealed as to who Emmy's father is.
Like this book because of how hard each of them is struggling-her with taking care of her daughter who has disabilities. He has given his brother (who has disabilities) a kidney and they are recovering still.
Glad she realizes over time what's really important as things are revealed.
Love hearing of the holiday festivities, how children handle being disabled and fit into society, charity and caring for others in this story set in Upstate New York.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
.
Candleglow and Mistletoe by Josie Riviera
Noelle is traveling to Snowy Rock and going to tend to her aunt's candle store.
After the crash she gets help from Gabe, a local and she's terriried of the icy roads.
She had also met a little girl and her mother-who had gotten injured....
What I like from the start are the music she plays-sounds so comforting and soothing as do the candle scents.
Like hearing all the tips on the candle making process and why it burns when wax gets too low.
Like Gabe's career and learning about it. She is able to find another piano to play because she's aunts is broken.
She opens up about her past and marriage...
There are other conflicts as he's taken Lucille out for Thanksgiving dinner and she's the owner of the other candle shop in town. Love hearing of the scenes and activities they do, so precious.
Love that Holly has come to set the record straight about Gabe...and that she had gotten through the performance with her ex.
Author bio and excerpt from A Snowy White Christmas is included. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

A Portuguese Christmas by Josie Riveira
Wanted to read this book because I am also Portuguese.
Starts out with Krystal and she lives in Newport, RI (on the same island as where I live) and she's in a surfing competition in Portugal and her cousin and her family are there with her.
The surfer cutting into her space causes her to go under the wave and get banged in the head from the surfboard-her angel. No more surfing til her concussion reside and she will be in Portugal for Christmas.
Love hearing of the traditional food as it was also served at our house in RI. My father and his family were Portuguese and lived within a hands throw from one another-like our own community, living on ancestiral lands.
Story also follows Adolfo who attended the surf competition and found himself tending to Krystal. He was just a farmer growing olive trees and her cousin had told him he needed a break from his work.
She also designs swimsuits and hopes that some day it will earn her money.
Love hearing of the sightseeing around the town, designs of the structures, food and decorations of the holiday season. Bull fight really intrigued me as I've yet to see one in person.
While she is stuck there she calls her brother Julio and hopes he will not put their father in a nursing facility til she gets back, she thinks he'd like to live with her, taking care of him. She just needs to win this competition.
She is still grieving the loss of her husband, a surfer himself. Adolfo is very senstiive to others needs and he is passionate.
Just recall an 80 foot wave that a man had surfed, off the coast of Portugal just a few weeks ago-the largest ever anyone had surfed.
Francisco is out of jail now and he will be hired on to help at the olive vineyard. He is very amorous and he takes it upon himself to bring her to practice surfing at the ocean.
She knows it will go against what Adolfo has to say about it as he knows she is not recovered from the injury. Same work ethics we were raised with.
Love hearing of the salted cod fish as I have one wooden container that the cover slides off. Misunderstandings and you wonder how things will turn out.
Concussions recently in the news also is brought up. Love the snowmen out of sand with the twins Descriptions are so very detailed you feel as if you are there.
Note from the author, a recipe! acknowledgements, about the author, and other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Valentine Hearts by Josie Riviera
I Love You More by Josie Riviera
Starts out with reviews and praise for the other works by the author.
Anastasia is going to spend some time with her friend Jaclyn and arrive as Jaclyn's brother Luciano shows up as he works nearby when he's not in other countries selling his company product.
She just needs a bit of time to file for custody but she is also a cancer survivor and has found a spot that is causing her problems.
Like hearing about the international adoption and how her daughter is the love of her whole life.
Love the different locations and descriptions of how they live-the surrounding and also at the same time so glad to hear of parks and being outside.
Love Vermont in the winter with all the snow and ice scultures. The lawyer doesn't go quite as planned and with her having time to really think things through she makes a decision about the whole thing.
Story is also following Luciano and what his agenda is-quite fascinating, the endeavor.
They are able to spend time with one another and know each other so well even though they've not spent any time together since they were little kids.
Love precious gift she is able to give him. Special recipe is attached, yum!
Other works by the author and about the author are included at the end.
Excerpt from Oh Danny Boy is included at the end. Great read, can't wait to read more.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
.
1-800-Cupid by Josie Riviera
First time reading this author and loved all the details. Love learning about different locations in the book, felt as if I was there also!
Story starts out with Candee (works at the local hardware store) and she lives with her sister, Desiree (works at country club) and she's into real estate. She bids on the mansion at the end of the street and noone has lived in it for many years.
She hopes no one else wants to buy it-it's in Roses, NC. Story also follows Teddy and his friend (Rob) in FL and they are into helping his nephew who needs medical surgeries. Teddy meets her and expects a woman over 50 as the real estate business has been operating for over 30 years.
Candee shows other places in the area to Teddy and he shows an interest in her mansion-she thinks it's hers already. She plans to redo the place for disadvantaged children.
He and his friend hope to flip a house for a living. She is heavily into beagle dogs and volunteers also at no kill shelter. Misunderstanding and you wonder if they will ever be together again...
Lots of surprises in this book and like how they change plans and just go with things.
Love ending did NOT see that coming. Recipe at the end-another surprise!
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Can't wait to read more from this author.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
.
A Valentine to Cherish by Josie Riviera
This story starts with Scarlett=love this name for this book because of all the red tones.
She's changing after her bethothed leaves to head back to his families home to take over for his ailing father. She is going to change, be more quiet, loss weight and lot of other things.
Love that she's a mentor for a young girl and they are able to spend time together because of Scarlett's job at the animal store. Love how the author finds all these cool jobs for the characters in this town.
They listen to a song played by a man in the park and go to the bookstore where they plan to purchase Valentine party tickets. After talking to the author and writer of the songs he will buy them the tickets and they talk a bit, getting to know one another.
She doesn't want to get her hopes up to only be let down because he moves on with his singing tour. Joseph is the man who wants her heart and the way she is-he doesn't want her to change a thing.
They get to spend quality time together and they discuss their past lives. Love how religion plays a big part in this book and she uses religion to help her get over her fears of not being good enough and uses it when she also wants food she knows she shouldn't be eating.
You wonder if they will ever really get together as he plans on traveling and she just wants to stay in Cherish....

Holiday Hearts Volume 2 by Josie Riviera
Aloha to Love by Josie Riviera
Really enjoyed this story because it follows a woman-Angelina and she's a writer and some of her script needs correcting before they can make it into a movie.
The scientific expert Caleb is on the cruise also and he conducts classes about his career choice. He knows a lot about volcanoes. She takes his classes and he helps her with the script-he playing the male part.
Love that he tells her, when he stops reading his lines, that a guy wouldn't say that. what was written. They improvise and get through the script and then some.
Story also follows Rachel who's pregnant and on her way to meet her spouse who's already on the island.
Love hearing of the events that take place away from the ship and all that is learned on the excusions.
Good holiday romance, more from five others.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion

A Christmas to Cherish by Josie Riviera
Always enjoy reading a Christmas story, and it's just July here. Book starts out with a few words from the author and list of her other works.
Started with Emmanuelle, a professional harpist and she's on her way to Dorothy's store. She's starting her new life after years of troubles.
Loved hearing about all the Christmas decorations.
She prays to God to help her get through the transition and to let things lay in the past.
Her ex took everything from her...
Story also follows Nicholas who's a deputy and is free from his ex girlfriend after she left him at the altar on their wedding day.
Dorothy hopes to get Emmanuelle to stay and work at her music studio. She knows her and Nicholas have spent many an hour over the year and they have many common interests.
This book is filled with holiday events, mystery and danger and twists and turns and love and believing in God.

1-800-CHRISTMAS by Josie Riviera
Book starts out with Desiree and she realizes she's overeatten near the holidays...She now owns a house that is need of repairs and is a lawyer.
Her sister, foster kids have not had a real Christmas as their parents were alcoholics. Now that her sister is married her brother in law helps with getting a man staying at the house while bringing it up to date.
Keiran shows up, an Irishman and she remembers him from high school-the rich kid. He's left his last girlfriend and hopes to work enough so he can buy and run his own store. His parents run a bar and serve food.
They spend time together as in a date after the work day has finished. Love how she sprinkles Christmas all over the house-it sounds very festive with his hel of the huge tree.
His father wanted him to pursue his football career and Keiran just wants to open his own pub and cook food. He has many special family recipes and they sound delicious.
She needs a stable guy and Keiran doens't even know if he wants to do carpentry or run the pub so she needs to set him straight...
Love baking contest they have set up in town for others to select a winner. This story can go either way with their continued relationship... His ex shows up and wants a portion of his money that she's not earned and there are other disturbing details.
When he ends up leaving town with the ex Desiree has no idea if he will even return for Christmas. She prays to God to make a miracle occur as he's the only one that can.

Seeking Charity by Josie Riviera
Starts out with us learning about Charity and her life in the gypsy troop. The customs are so interesting to learn about.
She's run away from her father because of what he does to her and she's happy to have to steal to get food, if it comes to that. It's just a fact of life, or they'd die.
Even after changing her name she rmembers a boy from her younger days and he finds her again. She thinks it's to bring her back to her father but he's told her other news.
You wonder if they can ever get together or just be friends the rest of their lives. Liked this book a lot but the time frame caught me off guard. Loved hearing of the colors of clothing.
Recipe for Welsh Cawl Stew, note from the author, excerpt from seeking fortune, in the series, acknowledgements, about the author, other works by the author are all highlighted at the end.

I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Seeking Patience by Josie Riviera
Starts with praise from others and reviews.
Starts in England 1813 Luca was just looking for food for his tribe....her life goal is to help others and serve God.
His body is carried into her house and she tends to him. He appears to be sickly, can't walk and is a gypsy.
He has nightmares since he was 3 on a fox hunt with his father....
Love that there is talk of sewing, afghans as I use my hands also. Wonder what patterns were like then?
She draws on God to help protect Luca from Marco the black enemy by quoting Bible verses.
Love gift he made her for protecting and healing him...Luca remembers things about his English father when he was three and he was told he was dead...
As the story goes on we find out why Luca is in the area and why Patience has to be very careful as some servants report back to Crispin her stepson who wants it all-who can take all her dwellings and lands away from her. Love how this all comes together, surprising!
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Seeking Fortune by Josie Riviera
Starts with praise and awards. This story also follows a gypsy and I'm learning a lot about that-things I didn't appreciate before.
England 1811 and we find Valentina near her dying mother...she is a fortune teller and she was not able to save her mother.
Love learning of the customs of the gypsies so informative. Love how they travel to Ipswich to help get special medicine for her sister. Luca is leading them. Each chapter also starts with a Romany saying translated into English.
They are caught on James Colchester lands.
James has an ailing son and nothing is helping-he learns of the fortune teller and wonders if it's the same one that told of his wifes future...
She doesn't trust the English but she needs to sway them over to her culture-they like the medicinal things they are taught for daily ailments...
Story also follows James who seeks her out for help. Super love how others use their hands to survive: woman with sheeps' wool, blacksmith, etc.
She explains all the customs of her tribe and they can't marry outside the Romany line or the blood line would be polluted. Love hearing all the Bible quotes
Just as they are getting to know one another he's called away to fight a war and leaves her with his son and there is death around...
Upon his return he wants to move them all to house in Wales to outrun the influenza outbreak-he learns the women are gone the next day and he sends others ahead...
So many tragic moments but there are great ones also. Other works by the author are highlighted.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

A Melody for James by Hallee Bridgeman
Have enjoyed other works from this author and looking forward to this one.
Without giving too much away we learn of how James lost his wife and a bit about his company and what he does for his job.
Story also follows Melody and how she didn't show up for her wedding after finding her ex with another. They meet on their return from London and share coffee.
He is able to rescue her from her ex at the airport but he didn't stay with her...She gets beaten badly as she finally comes to consiousness...
Over the years she finally is able to meet him again by chance and they become friends again.
Somebody is after his company and what they do and somebody is also stalking her and she's been to the police.
Lots of characters and easy to get lost with them but your senses go on full alert, scary at times, romantic at others and so much more.
Love how religion plays a part in this book! Story has me wondering if the culprit is one in the same for both of them going through the agongy of knowing someone is after them.
There is a leak among those they trust because some things nobody but a handful would even know about.
Just when you think the book is over they uncover more about the past that pertain to the future.
Discussion questions at the end along with other works by the author and an excerpt.
About the author and more recipes are included.
Received this review copy from the author when you sign up for her newsletter and this is my honest opinion.

On the Ropes by Hallee Bridgeman
Book goes from present to the past and you learn just who the characters are. She is now in witsec and must testify to put some away in jail forever.
Her sister has died already because of what she saw and she was relocated to keep her safe. She listens to her ex fiancee while he is also in court to testify and she learns so many new things about him and his life.
His family is the Russian mob although he was not but he's also there to turn states evidence and he hopes they can get away from it all at the end, living together....
Lots of action, travel and information about their jobs, he a fighter and her a doctor. Really enjoyed this book as I have the others from the author that I've read. Hope to read more.
Just when you think they are free and clear ... Discussion questions are listed at the end.

The White Christmas Inn by -Wright_ Colleen
This book follows the people who show up for the wedding, one who is there to write a children's story as she's alone she wants peace and quiet and many others who live in the area and some who are stranded due to the snow storm.
Each person has their own problems and what I love about this book are the ages of the people and their particular problems.
The big snow storm hits in VT and all along the NE of the US. Wedding party shows up all but the groom. Others show up when the roads are closed.
There is no food at the inn as the caterer can't make it there with the food truck. Love how they are given what they need to survive from neighbors. Love also how they get the supplies.
Other intense problems are dealt with and each finds their own solution. Would love to read the next book, although this is not a series, it'd be cool to have them all show up a few years down the road to catch up.
Christmas and the decorations and smells of good food only enhance this book.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Love how she is able to follow her dreams after so much turmoil. Like how she has to go back home and realizes the direction her life is going in...

The Glass Affair by Wayne Epperson
Starts out with Bernie owning his own investigation company and he employs Frank.
Then he also has Randi apply as she has some training and Bernie hopes Frank can teach her more.
They have a client and they start calling their associates for more information about the people involved. They are warned to stay away from the family.
Reminds me kind of like another TV show, very precise details but laid back in a way.
The woman ends up dead and now it's really up to Frank to find out why because he knows she took on too much. maybe even too much for him?
He looks into her past and follows that lead to talk to her old boss in TN which leads to other clues and he follows those also.
Back in town and Bernie has a lead on the bombing of their building. it's a wonder how this is all connected.
Lots of people involved, easy to lose track of it all...

Grandpa Went to Heaven by Amber Richards
What I like about this book are many things.
Author explains to the parents at the end what to focus on and not make things complicated for young children.
Pictures with words are easy to understand with things the young children is familiar with.
Reassuring that this is one thing you don't have to go overboard on with the recent death of your loved one.

The Geyser Girl of Yellowstone Park by Myrtle Brooks
Story of Old Faithful and the girl who lives inside the hot springs.
What I liked about this book was detailed descriptions of the nature in the area.
There are many stories inside this book.
One is about the Halpens, Ned who is a cavalryman/ranger in the park who spends his life keeping law and order.
Fllower of the Steam Basin is another and I like how others she trusts teach her words and other useful life lessons as she goes from the hot springs life to one of a girlfriend of one who lives in town/comes to visit during the summer months.
Story of Ned goes many decades and how each one has a link to the park and keeping order.
Best part of the book for me was the vow Flower of the Steam Basin makes when her mother dies.  She also runs with the wild animals in the park as if they are her sister.. She is at ease with them and helps others survive the traps and other harmful things that occur.
