The Seduction of Laird Sinclair by Kara Griffin

SYNOPSIS:

I In order to love, she must first seduce…

Callum Sinclair should have known the night the great fireball lit the sky would change everything. He returns from battle wounded of body and heart to find his clan in disarray. Someone within his clan wants him dead and tried to assassinate him, his brother/laird murdered, his wife died in childbirth. Family dysfunction forces him to accept a destiny he never expected.

Violet Danvers’s life takes a complete turn when the king executes her husband for treason. Now he vows she will either wed his favored knight or suffer his punishment. With help from her husband’s ally, the king’s cousin, he sends her to his comrade in Scotland. He gains one promise from her, never to return to England, even if she must seduce the Highlander to gain his aid.

Even with the five rules of enticement, Violet’s seduction doesn’t come easy. Callum is broken of spirit, but she is not one to easily surrender to defeat. With laughter and grace, The Seduction of

Laird Sinclair might lead them both to lose their hearts.

MY REVIEW:

The Seduction of Laird Sinclair (Scottish Historical Romance) by Kara Griffin
Story starts out with Callum and he's going to lead a fight with newly trained men but they are overrun by so many more and are defeated.
He's mortally wounded and just wants to die with his weapon but the man that finds him knows his healer can fix him.
Meanwhile in England: Violet and she's discovered her husband, has been killed and the man in charge is keeping her daughter til she marries the man she wants no part of.
A friend of her husband, Edward comes to her rescue and will take her to Scotland where a man there owes him a favor.
Violet arrives at the keep and she learns she can seduce the laird and get what she needs. She does favor him and he favors her as he's lost his wife also...
Dela is Callum's daughter and although she may not be his flesh and blood Violet wants to tend to her needs and takes care of her in the castle, keeping others away from her.
Others want to not only harm Dela but Violet as well. So many secrets and truth comes out and it's nothing is what it seems with the fireball above in the sky.
Callum's grandmother has a bit of knowledge and wisdom and leads him to find out the truth.
Edward comes to take Violet back to England but she convinces him otherwise.....
Adult scenes and at times things are confusing because of all the people being introduced. Family chart at the start of the story really helps keep things straight.
Enjoyed this book because I was able to learn some legends about thistle and makes sense as I've watched movies in this time frame, location, daily details of chores and gardening, strategy of fighting and outwitting others and I like a good tale. Love how guys banter with one another.
Can't wait to read more of this series.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
