One night he hears the phone ring and her talking and he follows the conversation and learns the death of his father...
She does not tell him and we learn months later the full whole story. She has her reasons and is able to show him the proof that his mother loved him. The boy is so afraid nobody loves him.
When she comes to live with them they help her being whole again but their caring acts.
Love how this one ends, great read.
