The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart
Story about a girl, 12 who is with her father in an old bus that they renovated.
They travel around the US. She calls her grandmother back in WA every week. Last call told her of the town digging up old playground and that hit a nerve with Sunrise.
I don't like lying but she tells many along the way. She lies to her dad about where they need to go cuz she wants a sandwich. They end up picking up many others along the way that can help each other.
Some are going to other locations that they can take them to while they do other things for the family. So many tragedies along the way, hardships and we learn about the loss of the rest of her family.
Story goes back to when she was just a young girl and then present days. There are a lot of nice people out there but doubt I would be pickingup others to take them across the US without knowing too much about them.
At the story goes you can tell it was from a safer time in the world where you didn't worry about pickingup hitchhikers.
Didn't really care for the book as it was meant for 6th grader and I'm well into my 6th decade. Just couldn't relate to a lot of what was going on, or could fathom what they were going through.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
