Dec 7 Book Review: With A Little Help From My Lord by Cheryl Bolen

With A Little Help From My Lord by Cheryl Bolen
This story starts with Lady Harriett and she's staying at a relatives house as her brother had gotten married to his sweetheart and they are away on their honeymoon.
She is able to go about on her own, especially to the library a block away from the house. She finds a book of poems and gets it as a man follows her and calls her by name.
Problem is she had not seen what he had done at the library and an arrow pierces his back and he is able to warn her of a few things.
She dashes into the house and alerts servants and five minutes later when they appear on the front porch the man is gone, all traces of him ever being there.
Others do not stay alert and she doesn't understand why it even happened. She knows her book is gone though...
That night later she is kidnapped and thrown into a coach and she gets her wits back she is able to escape the coach and knows her surroundings.
She heads to hthe House and knows that Alex her brothers best friend will watch out for her.
Harriett is able to stay in control of the situations and prays for calm solutions.
She is bloodied and a mess when she enters. He is there to tend to her and she gives him the details of what had happened that day.
He has taken matters into his own hands and will keep her safe.
Others are not known of her whereabouts and attempt to startle the relatives...
She has spent days with him and knows who she wants to marry. She will have to convince him.
The Lords gather and listen to her story and they have a solution.
Deadly entrapments, mystery, suspense, kidnappings, torture, politics,  travel, very detailed descriptions and food.
Never saw this book ending as it did, I feared for the worse.
Explicit descriptions of relations on wedding night.
