This book starts right in with an introduction that discusses what it means to cook German cuisine. Table of contents has recipes broken up into meal categories.
Intro talks more in depth about the cuisine and some of the favorite dishes that you problely didn't even realize were German.
Love list of German regular foods: beets, pork, sauerkraut, apples, potatoes, cherries, chicken, all foods we eat at least once a week.
History of Germany is included along with pictures.
Soft pretzels, we stopped in a German town in PA where we were able to make our own soft pretzels. Was so fun learning about them.
The first recipe is for that. Each recipe starts with a title in English and translated in German. Prep cook times and nutritional per serving: calories, fat, protein and fiber along with a brief summary of the item. Only a few have an actual color picture of the dish.
Servings and list of ingredients which you should be able to susbtitute for your healthier dietary needs: low fat, low sugar, low sodium and fresh vs. canned items.
Directions are given and a medium size color photo is included at the end.
Not all recipes have a color picture of the item.
Can't wait to try some of the breads. Have made many of the breakfast items as my spouse's relatives came from Germany.

I found most of the ingredients are high in sodium, at least use low sodium alternatives.
Some recipes have a LOT of ingredients, be sure you have them all first.
Love vegetarian stir fry recipes the most. I usually just use what's leftover in the fridge.
Got some really good ideas in how to change it up a bit, can't wait to try noodles and other spices in my meals.
Appendix also includes recipe for sauces.
