Book Review: Chasing Dreams by Paulette Marshall

Chasing Dreams by Paulette Marshall

Book starts with a dedication page, family tree and who is who then the story.

1895  and Dr. Polly is on a train heading to her new location to assist a local doctor. The train is held up and she helps many others recover and bandage them up. A few men are guarding a prize bull in a separate car and they shoot at the robbers til they leave.

She meets Alan and she finds herself a bit shaken up... Story follows them and others as they come into play. She stays with a couple she met on the train and they build a house for her to see patients.

Love how she and Alan team up to help others in the vicinity and are able to bring those deathly sick back to the hub to tend to them all. She does get Bridget to help out. Love that the neighbors consider her part of their family.

What a precious gift Alan has for her, but she is kidnapped....They want to sell her in the big city... Like history, travel, romance and the west and how they survived. LOVE the part about breathing in steam from a cup of soup to ward off viruses up your nose!

Struggles, health wise and savage of others really come out in this story. Love the ending and the excerpt from two other of the author's stories. Once a dream is accomplished you make another one and go after that goal.

Quite shocked that there were so many typos in this version. Ends with acknowledgement and about the author and how to contact her. Love this book, reminds me so much of 1883 on the fire stick.

I received this review copy from BookFunnel via the author and this is my honest opinion.
