Book Review: The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

My top 5 picks for this year

The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles
This story starts out with Emmett and he's being brought home after his sentence has been served. His father is dead and the house the bank owns now.
His younger brother Billy is very knowledgeable about a lot of things. They decide to start fresh from Nebraska and head west to CA. Problem is after the boys are home alone he discovers two guys from his prison had sneaked away in the trunk.
Emmett finds things his father had left them besides the car. They head towards the west but overnight Woolen and Duchess take the car and go elsewhere. Just in ten days time this book covers so many subjects, travel and descriptions of places they visit.
Love time on train and Ulysses is introduced, young woman who had been taking care of Billy, and a lot of other characters.
It's amazing Emmett and Billy found the others and they banded together til they didn't...
LOVE hearing all about the things along the Lincoln Highway and where it is, I probably drove on this road  and didn't even realize it.
Can't wait to go discover it for myself.  Deadly consequences and glad this is NOT a cliffhanger.
Turns out better than you can imagine as you're reading it. Just know the other shoe is going to fall...
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
