Chasing Carolina Jessamine By Laurie Beach
This book starts out with Jessa and her best friend Gates had brought a newcomer to the island, He was very rich, his family was and he wanted to buy the winery where she worked. She had been raised to be beautiful and she was proud of it and decided it was time. She wanted to approach Mason and soon he asked her to be his boyfriend. In her milk door there are gifts left and she has no idea who they are from. Her lifetime friend Gates had always been there for her and her for him. Her best friend Brook had broken up with Gates but he's still around.
Jessa needs to know her father and does find out, as does the whole island.
Another matter is her sister Tootie, we find out about that also. Things are not as they seem.
What I love about this book is the tip for baked beans with a carrot, the name of the state flower, the island camp secret places, the food served and the relationships. Some people are rather quirky which makes it more the fun times with them. Love that there are many generations so the age range is from young to very old. Family is everything and Jessa finds that out, no matter who your parents are.
Received this review copy from the publisher and Booksprout and this is my honest opinion.
