This story for all the strategy moves I learned about the older centuries of fighting. Amazing to learn the women were trained and fought to take the heat off their husbands, to deter the enemies from focusing on them.
Love learning that the shield was more treasured in some armies then it was in others which was their swords.
Lots of turmoil and brutal revenge and crucifixions.
Fascinating how allies become enemies in times of revenge in a second and everybody is on board with the onslaught.
Like Romans and the others involved but the language and how it's used to make a special code only a few understand was just so helpful to win wars.
Great read about kings and conquerors.
