This is a love story and the journey will continue. It starts out with a woman almost running him over and their worlds collide. Along the rides things happen to draw them together and break them apart. There are many other temptations and will they hold true to one another....
This book is about giving to others thus the giveaway will be an Amazon gift card from the author of the above book.

It's truly the best I've read and I read over 700 books a year.

SYNOPSIS:

Righting another’s wrong landed D in the witness protection program and cost him family, friends, and everything of substance in his life. Loneliness is his constant companion until he meets Candi, the girl of his dreams. He and Candi embark on a three-week ride to redemption where they deal with mind-numbing deceit, perilous treachery, their overpowering lust for each other and their personal demons.

Nevertheless, new opportunities bring a chance to begin again. And, it doesn’t hurt that he’s got 200 pounds of illicit diamonds to use to ease the pain of those wronged. He will continue the redemption process by way of a well thought out plan involving a 5,000-mile adventure through the Western United States and Canada.

When D meets Candice, aka Candi, she captures his heart, mind and soul the instant she ‘inadvertently’ almost runs him down in the Starbucks drive-thru. Candi joins him on his three-week, two-wheeled ride to redemption, where they’re forced to face their personal demons, while dealing with wanton lust, mind-numbing deceit and perilous treachery.

Spectacular scenery and a cast of unforgettable characters they meet along the way makes the journey memorable, but nothing prepares them for the sacrifices they must eventually make midway in the ride.

“The more things change, the more they stay the same,” sadly, does not ring true for Candice and D throughout this first of a two part series. Lust and greed are forever game-changers, even for those who desperately seek redemption.

One dollar of every book purchase will be donated to Second Harvest.

AUTHOR BIO

A Little About Me

Raised in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, I am a graduate from Cumberland University, located in a small town you've never heard just inside Kentucky and currently live beside Dale Hollow Lake.

I have been blessed to travel throughout the world and even more blessed to call Tennessee, home.

As a blogger, featured on many sites, including the Huffington Post, I have been humbled beyond measure, more times than not, by the thought provoking ideas we attempt to share through the written word.

I'll leave you with this simple maxim, from H.C. Mattern: "The way to happiness: keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Do as you would be done by."

Major is a "player in the ride."

In brief, you should know the following about us: we have been writing and blogging the last few years, as a way to continue to live life, in vivid colors, through the midst of the storms. MY REVIEW:

Ride to Redemption by DJ Wilson
I first learned of this book by attending a Writerspace chat where the author was discussing it.
The storyline sounded interesting for me, travel, action and adventure, maybe a bit of romance...
Candice Parker meets D at the coffee shop when she almost runs him and his latte over. They become better acquainted over coffee and it's her birthday.
Love hearing of the nature explorations on their journeys. Loved learning all about the techniques used in designing and redesigning houses ...
Many times while reading I'd burst out in loud laughter and others would glance over at me as it's NOT something I do often. Bit erotic at times but it's needed for the story line.
As they leave TN and head to the western states we learn more about the mysteries and more mysteries arise.
It all comes to a head while they are on the road, I didn't see it coming myself but was fun learning how it all came about..  how everything is connected.
So much more happens that alter the outcome as you could foresee it happening.  Glad there will be more of this to read in the next book... Can't wait for more of a ride where it ended off. With the detailed descriptions I feel as if we are riding along with D.
Very well rounded book, it has it all and then some for me. I love a book that will teach me new things and take me to places we've yet to explore and I like action, nature, walking and mystery and adventure.  Even the food described is part of the whole picture.  Easy to keep track of the colorful characters along the way.
This book has that and so much more-especially as there is another book coming along. Love what the book stands for, redemption and paying it forward-something I do every time I pick up my needles to knit for a charity daily.

The Cornbread Bible: A Recipe Storybook
What a treasure this book is. Not only is it a recipe book for the best loved cornbread recipes but it's also a story book about the origins and other tales about the food.
Love the differences between even the utensils used and the recipes are so easy to make.
Had just had 2 cornbread muffins at the hospital last week and know I need to make some for these cold winter days we are having.
The recipe with broccoli would be just perfect for a meal.
Some of the recipes use Jiffy as a starter.

Pies: Quick & Easy Pie Recipes For Every Season
Colorful photos of finished recipes. There is no nutritional information but the recipes are very quick and easy to make.
Rather than making the crusts you can buy the dough already made and then put it into the shapes for the item you are making.
My favorite would be the blueberry one because we always have the berries in the fridge or the freezer.

The Big Book of Green Smoothie Cravings for Cleanse, Detox and Weight Loss: Discover the Secrets of "Top 70" Green Vegetables and Fruits Smoothie Recipes for Quick Weight Loss & Fight Diseases
This book is good and healthy. It also explains what ailments you may have that could get better if you ate the right foods-or put them in your juicer.
SO much information.  Nutritional information is included for the smoothies making it easy to understand just how beneficial this all is.

All Girls Are Pretty - A Rhyming Children's Picture Book ( Fun Ebooks For Kids
Illustrated very colorful children's book about how others see girls and how really pretty they are. Some girls do not like their feet,
their hair or how tall they are. They must learn where the real beauty lies.

Some Owls Don't Give a Hoot: an early learning book about owls
Illustrated and colorful learning book for children and adults all about owls. Not only their species but what they can do.  Where they live, what they can do for special things, hearing, vision, etc.
My favorite of course is the snowy white owl and his habits of eating anything small, whole. We have local ones that we like to view from a distance.

Then the recipes! No pictures and no nutritional information. The flavors would be worth the time to make the recipes.

With autumn's Return by Amanda Cabot
Wanted to read this book because of the timeframe-1800's and that it is about a part of the country I've yet to visit.
Learned so much reading this book, from the doctor standpoint to just useful information. Love the scenery and the storyline.
Didn't realize this was part of a series. I didn't feel like I was dropped into something I knew nothing about.
This story is about Dr. Elizabeth Harding  and she has started new practice in Wyoming. Her sister Charlotte is a dress designer and has set up the rooms and supplies for her and then traveled with her husband to return in the late fall.
Her other sister has lent a hand also but she's with her military husband. Elizabeth is staying with Gwen and her daughter Rose. Her office is right next door to the lawyer, Jason. He has just finished a trial where the man he represented was found not guilty but he confessed he had killed her wife after.
She finds it hard to get new clients and the old dr. puts her down but she proves to him that she knows what she's doing when she is summoned to help.
Over time she also takes on new clients that need help from her in other ways.  Lots of relationships in different levels but it's easy to keep track of everybody.
Enjoyed the book and would love to read the others in the series.
I received this book from The Book Club Network (www.bookfun.org) in exchange for my honest review.

10 Fun Things To Do With Your Microwave by Instructables.com. Kindle Edition.
Although there are notices posted everywhere these can do harm to you.
Everything from putting a grape in the oven to Ivory soap. There are chemical reactions that happen with the microwave radiation that occurs.
There are videos to click on to view what happens.
Shell candles looked ok but could go wrong in a quick hurry if you're not careful.
Chocolate cake or a brownie in a mug sounds like an idea for just two people, rather than making a whole big cake.

Starts out with the guys and they are golfing trying to get into the game and win.
Then it's to college days and a lot of assumptions.  The story follows Kevin and Buzz as they move onto adulthood.
Various jobs that are interesting and how they attain better jobs. Love how they try to live off Buzz's girlfriend, and she has a car.
Crazy times for these men with no direction but to live it up everyday.
What a journey!

His Hometown Girl by Karen Rock

He'd always managed to best her…

Jodi Chapman will do whatever it takes to get top care for her autistic son. If that means going home and convincing local farmers to sell their land, so be it. Even if her biggest opponent, childhood rival Daniel Gleason, is equally determined to convince farmers to buy into his co-op plan. And he's not playing fair.

Facing off against Daniel is the last thing Jodi wants. The attraction that's always fueled their competitiveness is as strong as ever and just as distracting. But with both their futures on the line, and years of distrust between them, how can they ever be on the same side?

My Review:

His Hometown Girl by Karen Rock
I have read some of Karen's other works and enjoy the reads.
Jodi Chapman and her autistic son are on the track to get him enrolled into the specialized school. She has a few months to raise the money which is twice what she has saved.
She hears back from Tyler's father who is getting remarried and hopes to have a perfect child and he's reducing child support. Her boss then wants her to travel back to her hometown in VT and acquire farmland and he's promised her a hefty salary.
Love hearing all about the strategies the school can provide for her son and it's helpful being a grandmother of a child who is a  special class.
The story also follows Daniel Gleason who Jodie had  just up and walked away from 10 years prior. He hopes to make a co-op with other farmers so they all don't lose their farmland due to bad economy.
In their younger years they always competed against one another and that's not changed since she has returned. She needs the farmers to sell the land to Midland so she can get the bonus to send Tyler to his special classes.
Daniel needs the farmland and is willing to try some tactics from what he learned in college to help all the farmers out. They do meet and clash  ..... and sometimes even agree.
Daniels' sister Sue comes to Jodi and tells her of her plan to succeed at college and to help Tyler. Jodie and Daniel spend time together and the past does come up but can they move past it?
I received this book from Stephanie from www.romanceaddictbookblog.com in exchange for my honest review.

Blackberry Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke
Love the Hannah Swensen series and all the characters involved in this family saga tale.
The three sisters, Hannah, Andrea and Michelle are wondering why their mother, Delores won't pick a color for the theme for her wedding to Doc.  When she decides she changes her mind a week later.
Hannah heads to the car shop to pick up Lisa, her baker in The Cookie Jar and with the storm ends up running into a man and killing him.
She is in jail and with her notes and others helping to even figure out who the man is, there are many clues as they all gather with what they've seen. With lots of food recipes this is always a good story.
Lots of new things happen that are described, places where I never thought we'd see Hannah involved in....
Most of all I enjoy watching how she creates a new cookie-this is something I do yearly now as well. The freedom to play with food, flavors, textures, etc.
Excerpts from her next thriller series book, Dead Giveaway are included at the end.
This book has a bit of romance, mystery, baking, travel and new experiences.
I received this book from The Kennsington Books in exchange for my honest review

The Mine by John A. Heldt
Mines have always fascinated me and I have followed news reports of mine mishaps and the trapped parents wishes for their kids to move away from the area because the business is so hard of a life-they want better for their children.
Story starts out with Joel Smith and his friend Adam Levy   as they eat at The Canary while on a college break til graduation in Seattle. They have been exploring the national parks and other attractions. They learn of six planets and the sun and moon aligning and in the past it has caused calamities.
Construction on the road leads them to a road where a mine is located that was closed over 100 years ago. They explore as Joel is a geologist major. Something goes wrong and now Joel is in 1941 and Adam is nowhere to be found....
He has gone back in time and he tries to figure out what to do and hopes he makes the right decisions as time goes on from 1940's.  Loved hearing all the things that happened, in the right order and what he did to survive. When the planets line up again he has more difficult decisions to make-stay in 1941 or try to get back to 2000.
Love very detailed descriptive words of the locale, I can just picture it in my mind.
Fascinating read because of the time frame, travel and betting on the future.
Really a weird situation when he meets up with others...
Received this book from the author via Goodreads for my honest review.

Message in a bottle by Nicholas Sparks
Theresa Osborn is a columnist out of Boston and her son Kevin is on vacation with his dad. Theresa is on the Cape enjoying her time by herself when she finds a bottle on the beach with a note inside.
Her editor thinks they should do a story about the letter...the research leads her to Wrightshead Beach off the coast and she does run into the person who wrote the letters. More had surfaced since the story was published in the paper.
The story also follows Garrett and his marina experience and his life with Katherine and their times together.
Loved hearing of the water, navigation by stars and surrounding areas and their journey together as what they do in actions are paralleled to what Katerhine and Garrett had done...
Untold secrets could keep them away from one another, will they reveal them?
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Real Clever Ideas and Solutions: Hints and Tips to Save You Time and Money by Naya Lizardo
This book covers the categories of cooking, cleaning, household, car and health aids that you can make yourself that are green and not harmful.
This book although I knew of many there are still some worth giving a try because it will include everyday items you already have in your house.
Love travel tips as well.

Diet Cookbook: Healthy Dessert Recipes under 160 Calories. Naturally, Delicious Desserts That No One Will Believe They Are Low Fat & Healthy ((Diet Cookbooks Collection)) by R. Federbush
Recipes that are a good value on calories. Each recipe has a picture and some of the measurements are in metric system.
Calories is the only concern in this book where I'd be more concerned about fat and sodium for our diets. These are healthy choices where I have learned to not use frosting on a cupcake but yogurt as suggested here also for a topping.
Love the varied categories and especially the Q&A at the end. Very thorough cookbook.

The Peacock Who Wanted To Be A Pig (WantsToBe)  by Valerie Harmon
Colorful, children's book about a peacock and her tail is so heavy she notices a pig one day.
I love that the author teaches you how to really snort. The pig explains how they could do the things pigs do and the peacock tries it out for a while.
The peacock tries other things but just can't seem to get the hang of it.
One day a miracle happens....
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

children's book: Landon and the Dragon (Adventures for Children)   by Joy Fridman
Illustrated colorful children's book about Landon who is a knight and he has many friends who are the same.
One holiday he leaves the castle and notices the fire breathing dragon and his friends make sun of his armor.
He starts walking towards where the dragon lives...he meets up with a hummingbird who talks to him about not being sad anymore.
She talks him into getting rid of his armor when it becomes really hot out and he does other things to make him look like a regular person. What he learns next is priceless.
Other works by the author are linked at the end.

A Lovely Day - A Valentine Picture Book for Children by Sujatha Lalgudi
Illustrated very colorful children's book about Valentines. Kev has all his gifts ready for
all his family and friends and teachers. Refreshing to see he's more interested in giving all the gifts to others rather than receiving them.

The Secret Dinosaur #1: Giants Awake! (The Dinotek Adventure Stories)  by N.S. Blackman
Children's story with few pictures about an adventure. Marlin learned from his Uncle Gus that there was a special dinosaur at the museum which his class would be visiting the next day.
When he arrives with his class they are given a worksheet and he finishes fast with enough time to explore on his own. He notices many other types of dinosaurs and he does explore more and finds the metal dinosaur that his uncle told him about.
What happens next is amazing-he comes to life and takes Marlin on a tour  of the museum that others would never see...
Later that day he talks to his uncle and he suggests machine oil to help the dinosaurs out and he goes the next few days and they start to shine.
Marlin learns what the others plan to do and he tries to talk them out of it and has to run for his life. There is an excerpt from the next book in the series at the end.
Love all the hands on he learns about and the good it does. This would be a good book to read to a child over 6 years old, a few chapters a night for a week long project.

Cooking With Hot Flashes: And Other Ways to Make Middle Age Profitable
Without even looking at what this book was about I assumed it was really a cookbook. It's not that at all but something better.
For the aging group of us as we get older there are things that all we can do is laugh about and that's what this book is about.
The things we have no control over but we used to be able to control them then we got older...
So many funny stories in this book, poems, movies you should see now that you're older, new song titles etc. What a laugh this book is!
True comedy!

Muffins (Sweet and Savory Muffin Recipes, Butter Spreads)
Very pretty pictures of muffins of all types. It states this is not a low sodium, low calorie or low fat cookbook from the start. I learned also that chocolate chips can be coated in flour so they don't sink to the bottom-I knew that with blueberries, just never thought of it with chips.
Great combinations of  different flavors that sound very appealing.
Easy to cook and these are a favorite of ours when traveling by plane as there are no crumbs - they are not messy.
Blueberry/Lemon would be my favorite.  Liked looking through the butter spreads but I'd never make any of them myself.

Delicious Smoothie & Healthy Snack Recipes
Many health benefits are discussed at the beginning of the book as to why we should be drinking smoothies with fresh fruit and vegetables.
Choices as to what blender and what each offers in the way of features is talked about.  There are also troubleshooting things if your drink isn't just quite right.
Many pictures and nutritional information for the recipes.  Love the section for energy bars that you make yourself.
Spreads and other helpful recipes included.
25 Delicious Cupcake Recipes - Delicious and Easy Cupcake Recipes for Every Occasion
Cupcake recipes with pictures, no nutritional information provided.
Starts out with classic and moves along to unique combinations. Cornmeal cupcakes sound like something we'd eat.
Other recipe books are highlighted at the end.

Bear Learns to Share (Fun Rhyming Children's Books) by Lily Lexington
Good rhyming book for children. Illustrated colorful and easy to follow along.
Like all the animals in this book and how they interact with one another.  He never shares his honey with others.
He learns over time that others won't share what they have....
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

A Foodie's Guide to Yummy Appetizer and Snack Recipes
No pictures and no nutritional information. Very rich and sinfully rich snacks.
I did find one-fruit salsa that sounds somewhat healthy and worth a try. Wrapping bacon is out of our league.
Fruit and vegetables salas/dips sound appealing and easy to make. Some of the mini club sandwiches or meatballs would take a lot of time to prepare.
Some really good ideas here. Some are dessert types and some are appetizers, dips and some you can use as an entree.

35 Italian Recipes For Your Slow Cooker - Fabulous Italian Meals and Italian Cuisine (The Slow Cooker Meals And Crock Pot Recipes Collection)
No pictures and no nutritional information.  Some of the recipes to cook in your slow cooker are very intense and would take some time to prepare, a few are easy.
I think I could substitute some ingredients to make the meal more healthy but Italians don't concern themselves with that. This might be the once a month meal for us.

Paleo Dessert Recipes: 91 Easy and Delicious Paleo Dessert Recipes
Pictures for each recipe but no nutritional information. Paleo diet to me is very similar to the Mediterranean diet where vegetables and fruits and beans and grains for the high protein, low carb diet.
Interesting dessert choices. Very nutritious because of the ingredients used that you might find at a health food store.  I would love to make the cinnamon rolls and/or blueberry muffins with a few substitutions for our diet.

 Synopsis:

New York socialite Goldie Fischer seems to have it all: wealth, beauty, and a fiancé to die for. Until she’s murdered on her wedding night by a jealous witch and instantaneously loses everything. Angry and seeking revenge, Goldie becomes a dybbuk-- her soul possesses the body of Southern football hero Clay Harper and she refuses to join the light until the wrongs are rectified.

Only Clay has issues of his own and doesn’t take kindly to a petulant New Yorker in his head, interfering in his already messed up life. When Goldie promises to leave if Clay helps her break up the wedding between her fiancé and the witch who killed her, Clay reluctantly agrees. Only neither of them are prepared for the chain of events that follow.

Through the journey of two disparate people on a quest to make things right, Touchdown is a funny yet heartbreaking look about what it takes to truly know another soul and what it means to love.

My Review:

Alternating chapters: Goldie-about to get married, and Clay-start of the football season.
It appears as if these two don't know of each other but we hear about their past and how they will be come connected, somehow.
Goldie Fischer is a fashionata and is due to be married on Thursday. She loves to put others in their place and put them down and shop.
Her sister Mindy helps her to get ready. She gets a warning from a man in a white suit to be careful and not to marry Avnor Ficklestein. This is the man from her dreams.
Their lifes do become connected as their human life forms come to a close but there not for both...
It's all about forever love.
I received this book from JKSCommunications  in exchange for my honest review.

The New Year's Quilt (Elm Creek Quilts, #11) by Jennifer Chiaverini
In this book, good as a a stand alone the story follows Sylvia and her life as a child and then onward through the years.
The ones that touched me the most where the depression years when they had lost their mother but the farm was doing ok because of the thoroughbred horses they raised.
Others came by to work with hopes of getting fed and a place to sleep. Love that she took it upon herself after her father dropped the boys off at the orphanage she and others made quilts for them to make them feel safe and loved.
Times are even worse over the years as she loses so many.  Hard times also when her husbands' child must learn to accept their marriage.
Loved hearing all about the quilting and can picture the squares being discussed in my mind.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

The Winding Ways Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini
The new teachers are in place at the retreats. Love hearing all about their new techniques and how they are done.
Overlapping circles that curve symbolize the twisting paths others have taken.
This story has chapters by Sylvia/Andrew and Sara/Matthew who cook and she quilts before the quilting retreaters show up for their week long sojourn learning new things from others.
There are chapters from Gwen and Summer as their relationship changes.
Chapters from another founding member: Judy who will be leaving soon. The travel from one end of the state to the other is giving her problems to care for her mother and continue her work.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
