Book Review: Only a Highlander will do by Gerri Russell

Only a Highlander will do by Gerri  Russell
Dedication page and story starts at 1742 Dun vegan Castle, Scotland
Fiona is being sent away from her home by her father. She's to wed a MacDonald but she'd rather have another.
On their way there they are overtaken by the MacLeod’s and Alex chases after her til he catches her. He brings her to his castle and his sisters reassure her she is safe.
He's giving her three days to make up her mind. He rows her to a place where he's able to show her waterfalls, one of her favorite things. They hurry back as the castle is being attacked and they alert the guards and ward off the attackers.
Adult situations and I like how the men in the clans are all about their families and lands. She takes drastic measures with the help of his fairy mother to leave the premises.
Like the fairies and other magical creatures. Love especially the garden Fiona tends to and new things come up all the time.
Kidnapping, betrayal, loyalty, family first, travel, scenery new vocabulary words for me and the traditions and ways of the Highlanders.
The men run into Alex MacDonald and he's bombarding the castle buildings. She runs towards it and knows exactly where to look for the servants...
The men revenge one another and find new ways to do so every chance they get.
Rowena is captured and new plans are put into place for Tormod to get her back...
Love the 1700's, war strategies and how everybody rallies as one.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
