Book Review: The Many Faces of Jesus by Eden Marsh

The Many Faces of Jesus: exploring the life and legacy through history, faith, and culture by Eden Marsh
As being raised Catholic, going to church every Sunday, getting sacraments and so much more time and even going to Catholic school for 8 years I learned a lot of things about Jesus that I had never heard about.
Love the sections about the young life of Jesus. The jobs others had: carpenter where they also fixed tools, joining beams and threshold cracks symbolizes healing, reconciliation and even spiritual renewal. Other trades that used hands and mind: farmers of land and vineyards for wine, fishermen, potters, weavers and some also had jobs as merchants, selling their products; seamstresses and wool tunics. They were so honored to be able to use their hands for the whole community and their families. Love hearing of barter system.
There are so many factors that mattered and influenced those in the day: historical context, 3 different empires that were present, ancestry, education, faith, science and cultural influences. Love hearing of the parables and how they were really storytelling but the points came across with just a bit of thought. So much more about Jesus teachings and his disciples.
Challenges and struggles, justice, law and so much more. Really fascinating read!
Like how the modern world plays a part in the art, music and other areas of entertainment. There are some notations from the Bible with the chapter and verses noted.
References are included at the end.
