Book Review: Back to the Beach Cottage (Beach Cottage Series Book 2) by Joanne DeMaio

SYNOPSIS:

From New York Times bestselling author Joanne DeMaio comes the much-anticipated sequel to The Beach Cottage.

Winding to the sea is a nearly hidden dirt road. Acres of wooded forest engulf it. Reaching skyward alongside that road are towering trees, their branches gloved in icy white. In the middle of winter, few turn onto this tucked-away Connecticut road. Truthfully, most wouldn't know it leads to a secluded beach community.

Mack Martinelli sure does, though. He fell even more in love with his wife Avery there.

As Mack steers his pickup down the frost-heaved road, night settles in. Salt air presses close. It's been a long time, but he's finally ready to come Back to the Beach Cottage.

 MY REVIEW:

Back to the Beach Cottage (Beach Cottage Series Book 2) by Joanne DeMaio
This book picks up where last one left off but you don't need to read the first one-best if you do, but you will be brought up to date on some things that happened.
This story starts out with Mack and he's just arrived at the family cottage along the shoreline. he's got a list of things to get done before the big storm moves in.
He gets sidetracked when he goes to the shed, certain things trigger a memory of his wife and he glances through his phone where the album is.
All during the pandemic .
Love the little things that really make the differences: their dates, lasagna, snow chairs and night music from neighbors snow walks, games and puzzles that keep them occupied and closeness they feel when answering one another's questions about what they hold dear to themselves and what fears they have.
A feel good story with many different emotions that keep your heart intact. Love the window open at night my mother always kept hers open also for the salt air breezes, even in winter.
Love hearing of not only his work at the family business but the actual description of how he redid a seat cover, So special to me because he uses his hands!
Sad to hear about the pain and anxiety and loneliness fighting the virus. Love the LIGHTS when the whole community, all 9 houses come together for those in need.
What a treasure this book is. Author describes things in such detail you can not only see yourself placed there but you can feel and see and taste all she's telling us.
Can't wait for the next one!
